Meteor™ spark resistant filter media is an extremely robust filter media featuring a sturdy woven basalt reinforcement layer for superior mechanical stability and high temperature resistance. The basalt reinforcement layer is combined with standard filtration fibers such as polyester, PPS, aramid, Poly-Ox or P84® through an intensive needlepunching process to produce this truly unique media.
Derived from volcanic rock, the basalt reinforcement layer is capable of withstanding very high temperatures and contact with sparks while also providing high abrasion resistance and excellent mechanical stability.
Basalt, an igneous rock, is Earth’s most abundant bedrock and is also found on the Moon and Mars.
